The Journal of Entrepreneurial and Organizational Diversity (JEOD) focuses on the subject of entrepreneurial diversity, encompassing therefore all enterprise types and models.
Social businesses are companies that have a positive social impact and address social objectives as their corporate aim rather than only maximising profit. It is a growing sector in Europe, already representing 10% of all European businesses and employing over 11 million paid employees. While these businesses often receive public support, private investment via funds that invest in social entrepreneurs remains vital to their growth. However, such specialised social investment funds are rare or are not large enough. Cross-border investment in such funds is unnecessarily complicated and expensive.

They are businesses whose very ethos is grounded in responsibility and long term shared benefits. Being a social enterprise can in itself be a competitive advantage." ESCEM research team will organise the first Regional Dynamics and Social Economics Conference in Tours on the 22th & 23th Mars 2012. The scientific committee will involve famous researcher on theses issues from Spain, Poland, France, Quebec, ... The aim of the conference is to invite discussion of combining Economy, Social Progress and Performance for both Research related to Professional Sector and relation between Regions and the players in the field.
